About :Sophie and her family live in the land of Ingary where her father owns and runs a hat shop when her father passes away her step mother Fanny decides that Sophies younger sisters Martha and Lettie need to go and apprentice  to seek their  fortunes .Fanny sends Lettie to a cake shop to work as a baker and Martha to a witch to learn magic .Sophie as the oldest is chosen to inherit her fathers hat shop . Things turn for the worse after they all go their separate ways .Sophie finds herself lonely as her step mom is never around to help out in the hat shop and she is left to make and repair the hats alone  .One day when the witch of the waste swoops in demanding a hat and its not to her liking she puts a curse on Sophie  turning her into an old woman . As part of the curse Sophie cant tell anyone she is cursed . Sophie having had enough of the hat shop ,decides to go seek her fortune and find a way to break the spell. On her journey Sophie finds the moving castle that is rumored by all to be run by an evil wizard name Howl .Tired from walking Sophie finds the entrance to Howls moving castle and encounters magic , battles the witch of the waste ,makes new friends  and finding powers she never knew she had .

I absolutely loved this book I watched the cartoon movie years ago but never had a chance to pick up the book I am so happy that I did the imagination and characters were great I was surprised at the amount of darkness the author was able to put into the book in spots with some of the evil characters .The plot twists were amazing and I was happy with the ending . If you are looking for a book full of adventure and magic this is the book for you .
